The Peak Flow is not approved for multiple-users. It comes with 3 interchangeable mouthpieces, but this is a unit that is for single-users. However, we're in the process of making general disposable peak flow meter mouthpieces that will be compatible with the Microlife PF100. We'll keep you posted when that does arrive in our warehouse.

  12. Does this pediatric O2 sat probe fit NONIN oximeter? Is is accurate for infants.....under 1 yr?
Thank you for your question. The Pediatric Oximeter Finger Sensor is actually for only handheld units such as the OctiveTech 300AH, and OctiveTech 300IH. We have not done further testing with any Nonin Handheld units. However, most likely it will not be compatible until further notice. In addition, while the pediatric finger sensor has been used on other digits of younger children and infants, such as their big toe. It is recommended and most suitable on the finger for children weighing 15-45kg or 33-99lbs. Most likely, the type of finger sensor you will need for a 1yr old is an infant finger sensor compatible with Nonin Handheld pulse oximeter. Please call toll free 888-769-4827 if you have any other questions.

  14. How you can change the temperature from Fahrenheit to Celsius?
To convert the temperature of the infrared thermometer from one measurement unit to another, you must allow the infrared to shut off first. If you retrieved a measurement in Fahrenheit and wanted to change it to Celsius, you will still need to allow the thermometer to shut off. Once you turn it back on, all the lights will flash on. Once it goes to the next screen with the unit of measurement, immediately press the power button once. If it shows you the temperature of your last reading during the time you're pressing the button, then it may be too late to convert the reading and you will have to wait to redo this process. Once you press the power button at the correct time, it will change your previous reading to Celsius and allow you to now take readings in Celsius. This is also the same with changing from Celsius to Fahrenheit. We also can walk you through the process via the phone if you find you're still having difficulties. Call us anytime.

Hello, One of the issues you're finding, which is an issue with all oximeters, is they will run very slowly with cold hands or in a cold environment. Comparatively a Nonin Onyx 9500 which is a very good, noteworthy model may be less effected. However, even in the instruction manual of the Nonin 9500 mentions warming up your hands if blood circulation is reduced. Usually if your fingertips are cold when trying to get a reading, it will not be able to register a a good pulse signal/reading very well due to the reduced circulation or blood flow. See if warming up your hands will help resolve this issue. If you find that you're still having trouble, please call our support hot line and we can certainly run some tests on the unit. We do our best to make certain your experience with our products and service is a positive one.

  25. How long does it take to get a stable reading on this product? Can it be used for occasional spot readings, or does it need to be used for a longer period for continuous monitoring? Additionally, could you define optimal (or minimum/maximum) finger sizes for each type of fingertip oximeter? I'm hoping to find a single version that would accomodate both an adult and an 8 year old. Thanks!
Modern oximeters calculate accurate reading based on a series of sampling over several seconds. We recommend to wait for 5-10 seconds to get more accurate readings. There is one unit that is advertised to work for both adults and older children. Please keep in mind, it will vary from child to child depending on their weight and finger size. However, at the age of around 8, there is a unit that should be adequate. That unit is the BCI Digit Pulse Oximeter. It works well for children as well as adults because it has a different structure than most portable finger pulse oximeters. Its shaped like a small box with an adjustable finger tunnel. Due to the adjustable height, it allows different finger sizes to fit accordingly. Whereas most pulse oximeters are spring loaded clip-on units that already have a cutout for adult fingers. If you're interested in hearing more details about the unit, you may call our toll free number at 888-769-4827 or visit this link: http://www.clinicalguard.com/bci-digit-finger-pulse-oximeter-p-48.html

  26. You can put the pulse oximeter on your ear lobe and get a better reading than in your extremities.
It is a very interesting observation. Unfortunately, typical SpO2 curves are clinically based on readings on fingers. Please consult with your medical care provider for professional suggestions.

  34. does this peak flow meter need to be callabrated. went to my doctors office and this peak flow meter said 104 and the doctors old manual (pfm) said 150. is there a way to make my microlife peak flow meter match the doctors?
The calibration for accuracy has already been completed on the unit. Typically, the best way to get a reading is to retrieve the best one out of three. That is a standard. Additionally, if the unit the doctor uses is on the ATS/EU standard then this unit is going to show different readings from his/her peak flow meter. This unit is on the Wright scale (which is the case for most mechanical peak flow meters) so if you find that your readings are different that may be something to ask your physician. Lastly, make certain that the reading you are looking at is not the FEV1. PEV which is peak expiratory volume is the only reading you can get off a typical mechanical meter, so you may be looking at the FEV1 from the digital meter which is forced expiratory volume per second. Thus, you'll have different readings. Please call our toll free number, 888-769-4827 if you find this information is not helpful. We have knowledgeable customer care agents ready to assist you.

There is no need for calibration on electronic peak flow meter PF100 because it does not depend on mechanical parts to obtain readings. Yes, you are right, mechanical peak flow meters require calibration over time.

  38. Is the software disc compatible with Apple Mac OSX 10.5.8.
Unfortunately the software for the CMS-50E is not compatible with Mac operating systems.

  39. Can the CMS-50E transmit more than one oximeter signal wirelessly?
No it cannot. Only one wireless transmitter can be used because all the wireless transmitters send the same frequency. However, a customer can use several oximeters that can plug directly to the computer with USB cable and one wireless transmitter.

  40. Can one wireless transmission be sent and be displayed onto two separate computers?
Yes, because the wireless transmitters provide only one frequency, multiple transmitters can be used on different computers. The one adapter piece must be attached to the oximeter and then 2+ x USB receivers must be plugged into the computers. The only circumstance is that the software is downloaded onto the multiple computers and the wireless transmitter is within 50 feet of all computers.

  54. Is it safe to use this product regularly? Or should use be limited (ie once a day only for maximum x minutes)
Ultrasound has been routinely used in obstetrics for more than 30 years. There's no scientific evidence of any harmful effects to the fetus from the use of ultrasound during pregnancy. It's considered a very safe procedure for both the mother and the fetus. Many tests are continually conducted by manufacturers and the U.S. government agencies, results in the past have indicated no adverse side effects. The Food and Drug Administration regulates ultrasound in the United States and has cleared it for "continuous use". As there is no consensus on what this means or how often you should use your fetal doppler it is commonly recommended that like everything in life prudence is the best policy. When using your fetal doppler it is suggested that you use it in short intervals, infrequently, and following the first trimester. As a general rule an exam with a fetal doppler should never last longer than 10 minutes. If you don't find the heartbeat in this period of time, take a break. If your concerned contact your health care provider. If not, try again in a few days.

  68. Is this considered a full range or low range peak flow meter? My daughter, who has asthma, is almost 4 and I've been told to use a low-range peak flow meter, because she is still to young to be able to blow in a full range flow meter. What is the minimum age for children to use this device, in order to have accurate readings?
This is a digital peak flow meter and not an analog mechanical peak flow meter. The manual or analog peak flow meters have a mechanical bead that moves along a scale will come in low and higher scale depending on the age of the user. The Microlife PF100 unit is digital and provides a usable reading from 50-900 litters/min. If the child is large enough to use the mouthpieces and understands what is required to make an expiratory blow into the meter, it can be used for children.

  69. I am a community responder and need to buy various items for my kit myself due to budget restraints by the government, i treat all ages is there 1 machine that would do all or would i need to buy more than one ??
Hello and thank you for your interest in Clinical Guard. Our fingertip units are designed for adult use, however we do carry two specific fingertips units which are suitable for pediatric use (children between ages of 2-13 years old). It is not recommended to use an adult unit on pediatrics as the readings can be inconsistent due to the sensor calibration and the size of the fingertip area. Pediatric units are also a little more resilient to motion interference. Our two pediatric fingertip units are as follows: OctiveTech 300PN and CMS 50QA. Detailed information on both these units can be found within the product listings. Please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Care Team should you have any additional questions. Ultrasonic Nebulizer HL100 is made of medical grade BPA-free material. It is safe and completely avoids possible health issues related to BPA exposure. BPA stands for bisphenol A. Exposure to BPA is a concern because of possible health effects of BPA on the brain, behavior and prostate gland of fetuses, infants and children.
