How do I know I am pregnant? What are signs?

This is a most frequent question asked by women who are wondering if they are pregnant. However, unfortunately there is no standard answer. Besides missing period, some signs may indicate pregnancy.

Firstly, some women have a natural sensing about pregnancy, which cannot be explained by modern science. That is the reason for them to buy an early pregnancy test strip to further confirm in a scientific way. Normally, HCG increases to a detective level in 3~4 days after fertilized egg implants in the uterus, while implants happen after 5~10 DPO (Days past Ovulation).

Other Symptoms Showing Possible Pregnancy

    1. Implantation Bleeding. This typically occurs 7 to 10 days after ovulation, but may be even earlier.
    2. Implantation Pains. This is caused by the embryo connecting to the uterus. Though rarely felt, the feeling could be like cramp. This takes place about the same time or a bit earlier than implantation bleeding. Few women notice this sign because the feeling is not strong or does not happen at all.
    3. Fatigue. This is another common sign, but sometimes it is not noticed because many reasons may result in fatigue. Fatigue may happen at the time of a missed period or a bit later.
    4. Nausea. This is one of most common pregnancy symptoms which could happen only two weeks after ovulation. Some women even experience nausea before a missed period.
    5. Breast sensitivity. This is also related to ovulation, some women may feel tender breasts and nipples as early as two weeks after ovulation, about the same time of missed period.
    6. BBT chart. If you are recording your BBT (basal body temperature), a prolonged thermal switch may be an unobvious sign of pregnancy. If you stay longer at a higher body temperature, this could indicate you are pregnant; though this method is not recommended by experts.
    7. More frequent pee. This is not an earliest sign, normally later than a missed period.
